Our Harvest of the Month for March was strawberries – a student favorite, and the Florida Department of Agriculture helped us celebrate by including us in their “Florida Plate Day!” Strawberries were served in parfaits, in fruit cups, in the famous “Classy Clark Salad,” and even in strawberry-infused water.

The Classy Clark Salad, named after our Superintendent, Karen Clark, also included lettuce from both The Family Garden Organic Farm and grown by GET (Growing Education Training) students here at the Farm to School Hub, in addition to kale from Frog Song Organics.  Trading cards from all of these different producers were handed out to students trying a dish featuring the product.

Students at Lake Forest Elementary School stood in line to have their trading cards signed by GET student farmers
