What Is

Farm to School?

Food and Nutrition Services’ Farm to School program allows students to learn about the connection between farming, food, and good health in a fun, educational, and interactive environment. ACPS students are able to field trip to our demonstration garden that is a creative learning space that includes in ground gardens, raised gardens, chickens, ducks and mini cattle.

Vegetables and fruit from local farms are now distributed by our program and served every day in school meals! Fresh from Florida!

Our program also funds school gardens to participating schools to offer an on-site space for students. The harvested produce is used in a learning lesson (taste test) or placed on the menu for school lunches.
