Alachua County students are enjoying fresh, local blueberries in their school lunches next week. Chance Clay grows berries on his family’s 160-year old cattle ranch.  Growing Educational Training students helped pack them for school deliveries. We also grow blueberries at the Farm to School Hub, grown with the help of Growing Educational Training students, UF/IFAS Family Nutrition Program staff, community volunteers, and pro tips from the University of Florida.  Field trippers visiting this month enjoy the short hike through the pollinator garden to try one of these delicious Florida fruits. The shiny ribbons scare away the wild turkeys who seem to like eating them as much as we do.
