Moonlight and Sunshine
Our mini cattle, Moonlight, is a classic mini–Belted Galloway and also Mom to Sunshine. Sunshine is a classic mini–Belted Red Panda. We brought them to the farm to assist us in mowing the grass and to spark interest among the ACPS district students to become more educated about the cattle industry. The GET students assist us with the care of the cattle; they muck the paddocks and pastures, feed them and love on them daily. Students that attend field trips to the farm get to feed them treats.
F2S Chickens
We were provided chickens, a chicken coop, feed and supplies through a grant. Our plan is to have the GET students collect, process and distribute to the schools for school meals. This project is currently in the development stages with the local agencies to get all the necessary training, certificates and equipment to ensure compliance. The ACPS students that visit the farm get the opportunity to learn about chickens and egg production.
