We have more students, more space, and a grand vision for the second year of the Farm to School to Work Hub! We were very fortunate to be able to expand to an adjacent campus – the Horizon Center. This will allow us to grow, aggregate, and process more local food for district schools.

While we finish outfitting the new processing kitchen, students are working outdoors to transform an empty field into a school garden demonstration area and starting plants for greenhouse production and school gardens. We have three times as many regular students this year – plus a daily schedule of visiting students. Many hands make light(er) work.

We are looking forward to seeing the results of the labor and heart our students are putting into creating a beautiful and productive space that will benefit thousands of students across the district.

Here are some “before” photos. Watch the vision grow!
